This African Lion was seen in South Africa. The African Lion, which are critically endangered, could be completely extinct by as soon as 2050. Poachers and trophy hunters have diminished their numbers at alarming rates. Due to my concern for protection of this amazing animal, I have been inspired to paint it in my home studio.

This rhino was spotted by myself in South Africa, photographed at that time and then painted in my home studio. The black rhino was one numbered in the hundreds of thousands throughout South Africa, but due to unregulated hunting and poaching, that has decreased over the years into just the 6000 range. For this reason, the Black Rhino is considered critically endangered, but conservationists are cautiously optimistic.

Dar es Salaam translates to “Abode of Peace”. It is the largest city and main financial hub of Tanzania. My daughter photographed this scene and shared it with me. Because of the beauty and calm quality, I was inspired to paint this scene in my home studio.

This Fiji sunrise was photographed by my daughter and sent to me. Because of its beauty and tranquility and its unusual array of colors, I was inspired to paint it. This oil is of the south Pacific Ocean.

I photographed these African animals while boating on the Zambezi River and was inspired to paint them. These elephants, due to decades of poaching for Ivory and loss of habitat are now listed as critically endangered.

This sunny afternoon coastal scene occurred on the South Island of New Zealand. My Daughter-in-law and I enjoyed walking by the beach and later, eating fresh seafood. It will long be remembered.

While walking along the Sein River on a Winter day, I anxiously awaited my tour of the Louvre and took these pictures for painting.
